These are free events and everyone is welcome. We bring sunflowers, seedlings and the seed bank for you. Please feel free to bring along your excess seeds, seedlings, cutting and plants, and help support these great days

12Noon Monday Weekly Mini Swap Market at the Tasmanian College  of the Arts for produce, seeds, seedlings, sharing knowledge or general catch up on what is happening. Come along we will be there every week BUT finishing on Wednesday 6th November and re-starting in 2014!

19th October Kids Expo in City Park Launceston for Children’s Week We aim to make a giant children’s garden which will then go to the Sustainability Festival in Hobart. We would also like to give each child a sun flower seedling to take home and grow. Can you help?

3rd November Oatland School & Community Garden open day. We have been invite along to this great open day. Please bring along an spare seed, seedlings and plant for a share table. We will be there with sunflowers, seed bank and plants. We look forward to meeting everyone

6th November 12noon Gathering of the Garden in Launceston the next BIG share market and last one for 2013! Please bring all plants you would like transport to Hobart for the Sustainability Festival on this day. It is also by final event for Bridgette’s Bachelor of Contemporary Arts.

9th/10th November Sustainable Living Festival Help us grow the Tassie Food Forest project! We need everyone growing something over the next 3 months ready for the launch at the Sustainable Living Festival 2013 in November at Prince’s Warf 1. en as part of the Make it theme for Sustainable Living Festival this yearWe are making a community garden as part of the Make it theme for Sustainable Living Festival this year

11th November Colony 47 Permablitz/Build the Vegi Patch Day. Come along and learn about permaculture through a permablitz day and help a great not-for-profit extend their vegi patch! We need lots of newspaper, cardboard, manure and straw for this day. Let us know if you can help

15th January Art Summer School Share Market. The first event for the new year. A big share market on a the same time as the summer school down at Inveresk. Bring something to share, especially seeds seedlings, plants and gardening materials!

Permaculture Intro Bracknell

What a success, thanks to a great people and our wonderful hosts Heather and Nick. We built 4 gardens, exchange lots of knowledge, did lots of seed saving and sorting and of course ate lots of great food. We will be holding more INTRO’s to permaculture courses and permablitzs in Hobart and Laucnceston so email us and let us know if you are interested!

Would you like to grow for the Sustainable Living Festival, Kids Expo or Family Fun Day but have NO seed or plants?
Then let us know, we have 100 stamps and are happy to send seed out to those in Tassie who would like to grow for these events.  Not sure about growing from seed then we have 100’s of seedlings and mature plants which need foster families for 2 months. No experience needed, only water, sunshine and TLC.

THE NEXT BIG market will be 12 noon Wednesday 6th November- the Gathering of the Garden at the Tasmanian College of the Arts. On this day we will gather all the donated and fostered plants ready to the Sustainable Living Festival on the 9th/10th in Hobart. The will also be produce, books, seeds and lots of other goodies to share.  It will also be my final event for my 3rd year Bachelor of Contemporary Arts and a big thank you for everyone’s support this year.

TODAY is Our BIG Sunday Share market is this weekend, 10am-2pmTasmanian College of the Arts.  Come along and celebrate Sustainable AugustFair Food WeekUniversity Open Day and the launch of the Tassie Food Forest Project.  Bring your family, friends, fruit & veggies, seed, seedlings, cuttings, art, music, performance, baked goods, skills, passion, conversation……..

We will have the Seed Bank, 100’s of plants, 3 great workshops and 2 films.
– The SEED Bank will be open for deposits & withdrawals, 100’s varieties to be planted!
– 100’s of plants ready for fostering & adoption for the Tassie Food Forest Project
– 10am Seed Collection and Storage with Heather Thorpe and Sharon Campbell-Zeni
– 11am The WHOLE Lemon– Lemon preparation and preservation by Tanya Murray
– 12am URBAN Bee keeping with Ian Hewitt from EEE’s Bees and Malcolm Bowden
– Kings of FLINT Urban Farming Award winning doco
– Money and Life Film

We  will also have lots of great people and community organisations coming along including Colony 47, Meander Food Connect, NRM TamarOxfam Tasmania and Hill Top Seeds from Burnie Community House.

Where is it all happening? Tasmanian College of the Arts, Inveresk, between the Museum and York Park, opposite Blue cafe and marked by a Giant Yellow lightening bolt sculpture.
